Enjoyed this piece, especially the pictures. I visited Gyumri in 2003 as part of a partnership between my former employer Florida A&M University and the Gyumri Pedagogical Institute. We worked with their faculty and students on beefing up their journalism offerings, including funds for a computer lab and library. I remain in touch with several friends I met!
Also, in Yerevan, I got to meet a woman named Narine Khachatryan. Do you know her? She and her husband have long been immersed in Armenian journalism. We are now staying in touch via facebook.
One of my facebook albums includes pix from Armenia: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=41745997&id=15932995
I will continue to follow your work!
Holly
Hi, Holly, no I don't. Is she freelance or does she work for a publication, news outlet? Anyway, thanks for your comments.
Incidentally, I also took some pics on D-SLR for the Osservatorio article. Some of the art therapy class in a disabled children's center are at:

Incidentally, there are some excellent, if depressing, photos of the situation in Gyumri for those without homes by young Gyumri photographer Anush Babajanyan:

Again, another good example of blogs moving in to cover an issue not properly covered in the Yerevan-centric media.
Oh, and correction to the tweets and video interview. I'm working with the mindset that Ashotsk was a village when in fact it was a city or town. That in itself says something about the situation there...
