Two journalists shot in Pakistan

An Afghan journalist and a Japanese journalist were shot in the Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan city of Peshawar today. Motoki Yodsukura 四倉幹木さん, a reporter for the Asahi Shimbun, was shot in the foot and is said to be in a stable condition. However the condition of Abdul Sami Yousafzai, the Afghan journalist, is said to be more serious.
Unknown gunmen fired at the journalists in the Hayatabad area of the city, which borders the lawless Khyber tribal district, senior police official Abdul Qadir said. "A Japanese and an Afghan journalist were injured after unknown gunmen fired at them and fled after the shooting," [senior police official Abdul Qadir] said. "Yodsukura got a bullet wound in the right foot, but his condition is stable, however, Yousafzai was in serious condition as bullets hit his chest," police official Khan Abbas said. link
AP suggest the attack was an apparent kidnap attempt.
