Nick Meo in Kandahar IED incident

| 2

[video:youtube:1GegGPTSAqg] Nick Meo, Telegraph foreign correspondent, reports from Afghanistan a few seconds after an IED exploded a truck he was travelling in just outside Kandahar launching it into the air and turning it upside down. Nick filmed the aftermath of the attack in the clip above,
The Cougar was meant to clear a way along roads where bombs or mines are laid, and it was leading the convoy, with Becker commanding from the passenger seat. At the wheel was Mitch Chapman, a young New Yorker who cheerfully told me that he had never driven the 13-ton monster before. He apologised in advance for his driving and told me to strap in tight with the racing driver's harness. His advice was to save my life. link
I was chatting with Frontline blogger Alex, who is based in Kandahar, on Friday. He was at the IED scene soon after the explosion and took a picture of the huge crater left in the middle of the road,

Uh, the only problem is, it didn't happen the way Meo claims. The US Army has sent Meo a 4-page single spaced letter outlining problems with his account. The American milblogging community also has serious issues with Meo's self serving report.
