The Debt is a psychological thriller that follows the story of three secret Mossad agents who are forced to revisit the case that made them famous in Israel in the 1960s. As young agents, Rachel, Stefan, and David successfully tracked down a former Nazi war criminal in East Berlin and were venerated by colleagues and countrymen as a result.
However, thirty years later, a shocking secret about David comes to light that makes them question the very foundation of their mission.
The Debt follows the cat-and-mouse chase of the former Nazi and the search for the truth of what really happened thirty years late, leaving the viewer wondering how successful the mission really was.
Starring Academy-Award winner Helen Mirren, Academy-Award nominee Tom Wilkinson, and Ciaran Hinds, as well as Jessica Chastain and Sam Worthington, The Debt is a meditation on redemption, guilt, and personal responsibility in modern Israel.
