Screening – My Kidnapper
A riveting documentary about the psychological effects of kidnapping on both the victims and kidnappers, My Kidnapper tells the story of Mark Henderson, who was held captive for 101 days in the Colombian jungle. Shaken after his release, Mark receives an email from his captor several months later; simultaneously, another hostage receives a friend request on Facebook from the kidnapper’s girlfriend.
After this contact, Mark and his fellow hostages travel back to Colombia to fully understand the ordeal they experienced. Trekking along the same paths that lead them to captivity and finally coming face-to-face with the captors, My Kidnapper examines what really happened, the motivation behind the kidnapping, and how people come to accept and forgive.
