Richard Wild “unlawfully killed”
Richard Wild was killed while working on a feature about museum looting in Baghdad in July 2003. He had only been in the country for two weeks and wanted to establish himself as a war reporter. He was shot in the back of the head. At the time Oxford Coroner’s Court heard that the US military were not investigating civilian deaths. According to the BBC, an inquest has now been told he was unlawfully killed. Richard’s parents, Daphne and Robin, are honorary members of the Frontline club. Robin said at the time of his son’s death that there had been no attempt to carry out a proper investigation.
