Insight with Sir Menzies Campbell – War, Politics and the Lib Dems
Former foreign affairs spokesman and leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Menzies Campbell, talks about the party, the war in Iraq and British politics.
An MP since 1987, and the Liberal Democrats’ chief spokesman on foreign affairs and defence, Campbell led the party in its opposition to the war in Iraq.
In 2006 he became the leader of the Liberal Democrats, following the resignation of Charles Kennedy.
Following Gordon Brown’s announcement in 2007 that there wouldn’t be general elections that year, Campbell stepped down.
