From Broadway to Baghdad
Campbell Robertson, New York Times Broadway gossip columnist, is heading to Iraq – “once the Tony’s are over” – for the United States leading broadsheet. Explaining the decision James Glanz, Baghdad Bureau Chief, says the paper could do with some fresh ideas,
“Look, he’s an untraditional war correspondent the way a lot of us are,†said Mr. Glanz, who was a science writer before leaving for Baghdad four years ago. “He’s coming from a different background and point of view from everyone else there. And right now, we can use some fresh ideas and perspectives.†link
The New York Observer says Robertson will start working in Baghdad from the beginning of July when panto season starts when “the story is falling from the front page”.
