Daniel Pearl jam session
FODfest, or Friends of Danny, is a concert tour to celebrate the life of Daniel Pearl, the WSJ journalist murdered in Pakistan in 2002. The first show takes place on what would have been Pearl’s 45th birthday on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, reports the Bershire Eagle,
“Whether it was Boston or Bombay, this is how (Danny) would meet people. He would jam with people and he would make friends. And that’s what we’re trying to do with FODfest,” said Mack, who befriended Pearl through music in Atlanta in 1991. “I’d say that the only difference between the role journalism played in his life and the role music played in his life is that he didn’t earn his living from music,” said Mack. link
