First Wednesday: Iran's nuclear programme

Talks

Date: October 7, 2009 7:00 PM

Ahead of the next round of talks later this month, we will be discussing the Islamic republic's nuclear programme at the Frontline Club.
Join us to discuss the state of play following diplomatic talks in Geneva between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. What can be expected of the 25 October talks?  Will re-elected president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad respond positively to Barack Obama’s appeal to Tehran that it “unclench its fist"?
Can a nuclear arms race in the Middle East be prevented?

With Jon Leyne, the BBC’s Tehran correspondent who is currently in London, Julian Borger, the Guardian’s diplomatic editor, Con Coughlin, executive foreign editor of the Daily Telegraph.

Following the success of September’s First Wednesday discussion on Afghanistan, Paddy O’Connell of BBC Radio 4’s Broadcasting House will be moderating the second of these dynamic debates.

Migration is the biggest concern in this country, including but not limited to labour migration issues, and it is not being metioned by politicians, or explored by the media in any real way.

Will Frontline do it?

Democracy is the key factor here. In a court of law you listen to all sides of the argument and the jury decides the fate.
So as in this case a number of people have elected the BNP to represent them (though personally I believe they are wrong in doing so) however through debates you begin to understand what they stand for and surely must be heard at the very least, whether the general public agrees is another matter.
Whether the all new European Parliament would agree with me I very much doubt it !

What do you think?
