The week ahead: From Rwanda and Afghanistan to a bunch of madmen and frontline tales

The coming week at the Frontline Club starts with Leah Chishugi who is joining us tonight to tell her chilling and inspiring story about surviving the Rwandan genocide and her work since then with women caught up in the conflict in the Congo.

On Tuesday next week we will be joined by Mort Rosenblum who will be looking back over his forty-year career covering war and peace on seven continents.

The former editor of the International Herald Tribune, special correspondent for Associated Press, Ap Bureau chief in South Africa, Southeast Asia, Argentina and France will be passing on the kind of advice he wished he'd been given as a rooky foreign correspondent.

The following evening another frontline journalist,James Brabazon will be with us to tell the inside story of the most infamous coup attempt in recent history: the overthrow of the government of Equatorial Guinea which was masterminded by one of Africa’s most notorious mercenaries - his friend Nick du Toit.

James Brabazon will be discussing his work and his recent book My Friend the Mercenary with Andrew Mueller, travel writer, foreign correspondent, rock critic, columnist and author.
      
Our screenings have an Afghan focus this week. Battle for Marjah is an intimate account of Bravo Company, 1/6 Marines during the US Marines' largest operation since the start of the war in Afghanistan.

Our Sunday Screening is Camp Victory Afghanistan, the first film to examine the reality of building a functioning Afghan Military which is also a story about friendship and the unlikely bonds that form in war.
