Lacking correspondence

Writing on the Guardian Editor's blog, Murray Armstrong explains how the newspaper is approaching the Burma story without having a correspondent in the country,
Colleagues on Guardian Unlimited reported this morning that they had been working with Burmese-speaking translators yesterday and today to gather as much information as possible from blogs and other communications from inside Burma and from sites run by exiles. As reported in our coverage this morning, though, they were seeing those sources begin to thin out as the generals in Burma started their effort to shut down communications. We still haven't been able to get a correspondent into the country and are having to rely on many different sources for news and eyewitness reports. link
Here's how I use RSS to follow this or any other news story I'm more than a little bit interested in. The BBC's Robin Hamman has yet more advice for finding out more.
